Has your Windows 7 laptop been warning you of the impending demise of your laptop battery? Most folks are complaining that Windows 7 isn’t too friendly with its battery consumption, but Microsoft says that Windows 7 isn’t really killing the batteries; the tool (which reports when a battery is down to 40% of its designed capacity) is just reporting the read-only documents that it receives from the battery. Microsoft thinks that the tool might actually just be reporting the degradation on the battery that most users haven’t
